First of all, i really love how the girl goes well with the background. I can tell that she is enjoying the view of the city/ town. You did really well with the background since it looks lifelike and it gives you this city like feeling. And you really did well with the setting on how the houses and the buildings are all three dimensional if look though it in perspective. The only problem is that the background pays much impact and attention than the girl which is just the only slight problem. All in all everything is good~! Hope this critique helped you. It's ok if you disagree on some points.
The background is AMAZING! Its just so detailed and everything has perfect porportions. As for the girl she doesnt stand out of the picture, she fits right in(i mean that in a good way). Also the shading is absoulutly perfect! All in all the every bit of the peice really comliments each other(uhhhhh does that make sense?). I can only whish to be as good as you in paint tool sai, only because I just got is the other day, but just by looking at this I wonder how does somone make spmething so impressive? You must spend hours on your peices, and they are all beautiful and amazing, someday I whish to be as great of a digital artist as yourself.
Just to be honest, I'm always impressed with how detailed things like city buildings and other urban structures are when they're drawn anime style. It gives me a good feeling knowing that there's somebody who can do building better than me. (Seriously, I SUCK at drawing buildings, unless I use a ruler.)
You made a pretty important mistake... that people generally don't care about. And that's the shadows. They go in different directions, and their intensities are different. Seeing as you have 5k views, and a decent fav : view ratio... I doubt you have to make this change.
The girl is so cute and beautiful, but more than that I wanna mention it's awesome and amazing of the background, especially the detailed buildings! I wonder how you could make that ^^ Is this the actual landscape?
in general the perspective is quite perfect... the colors, tones and shades look great too, the design of the character is not my style yet it looks amazing too.
the background could use a little work, maybe a little bit of texture and details like lights and reflections... it makes it heavier and tiresome to do because your background is already pretty detailed yet it will make it more "believable"
The girl was well drawn(although she could be colored better...) and the perspective is nice, but the background isn't. Colors are oversatuated, especially the trees. Shadows are horrible. You are using soft shadows where they shouldn't be. Besides of your bad mixing of soft and hard shadows, the brightness od shadows don't match the light source.
For me it's hard to believe that someone with such good anatomy and perspective skill and who has drawn so much for so long is so bad at coloring. It also raise my suspicion of tracing, but I could be wrong...
